Caroline Schmidt is a poet and fictionist from Arizona. Her work has appeared in American Short Fiction, Colorado Review, Palette Poetry, and Southern Humanities Review, among others, and her story "Particular Luck" was selected by R.O. Kwon as the winner of the 2021 Halifax Ranch Fiction Prize. She has received awards and fellowships from MacDowell, The de Groot Foundation, Vermont Studio Center, the Bucknell University Stadler Center for Poetry, the Beinecke Foundation, and the Academy of American Poets. She is a graduate of Emory University and the Rutgers University-Newark MFA program, where she taught undergraduate creative writing.
